Nicola Bernasconi

Producer

Born in 1973. Humanistic & Cinema Studies at the University of Lausanne, Bachelor degree in Communication Sciences at the USI, Lugano, studies in Film Production in Milan.

He started working in the cinema and television industry in 1996 as a production assistant, then as a unit and production manager. From 2006 to 2012 Nicola served as a jr. producer at Ventura Film. Since 2013, he teaches at the CISA film school in Locarno.

In 2014, he established the production company ROUGH CAT sagl, aiming at developing and producing both, documentaries and fiction films by young and mainly local authors, keeping an eye on international co-productions. His latest production, the documentary “Cows on the Roof” by Aldo Gugolz, won the Jury Prize at the 51st edition of the festival Visions du Réel, Nyon.
